Eddie Morningstar Johnson began his studies at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2002. While at MIAD, Eddie began to consider the relationship between the object qualities of paintings, and the images represented in them.

In 2017, Eddie graduated from the Azusa Pacific University School of Visual and Performing Arts with a Master of Arts degree in Modern Art History, Theory, and Criticism. During that time, he taught a number of studio art and art history courses at Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, Illinois.
Eddie explores a variety of formal and conceptual topics within his work in an attempt to articulate his thoughts and experiences. He lives in southern Illinois with his wife and two daughters.
